Our mariner has very sensitive skin, he also has skin allergies. He takes an allergy pill similarto benadryl for dogs daily. Grass iirritateshis skin all summer. If you touch his stomach his back legs start going crazy! I would get him checked for allergies. They seem to have skin issues.

At 5 months I think it is probably food allergy as others have said. Our weim has had allergies to Canidie when they switched their formula without telling anyone. We did not even think about it being an allergy it just showed up a rash on his belly.

Our vet told us you can give them benybral (sp?) to help allegies but I would switch the food asap. You will be amazed at how their coats will change on a good diet. We really like the Innova products if you can find them.

My dog gets this every now and then and its a heat rash where she lays in her bed and sweats! I use some sudocream or baby nappy cream and it clears up by the next morning.

Most likely cause is food allergies, in my opinion. Purina Dog Chow has a lot of corn, and lots of dogs are allergic to it. Take them to the vet to rule out any other causes, and if they are fine except for the rash, I would switch their food.

There are many brands of food that are good for your puppies, but most of them are not available everywhere, some are not even available at the mega pet stores. Do a little research and choose something that is free of artificial preservatives and colors, free of corn, wheat, and soy and is made with good quality protein and carb sources.

Good luck!
