Why by Oct 22?

Good luck with that. Good breeders usually have them sold by the time they are ready to go.

However, here are some suggestions on how to find a breeder in your area:

And here is some information on purchasing a Weim puppy

Why? If you are getting this as a gift for someone, shouldn't they pick out their own dog? What if they don't WANT a dog? What if they aren't READY for a do.

Sorry, I don't see why one HAS to have a dog by a certain date.

EDIT: While a dog can make a good birthday gift, don't buy the dog for the birthday! Wrap up a collar and lease. Have an outing with your daughter to pick her own puppy! Have her volunteer at a shelter for a while to help learn to care for the puppy while she's waiting. Enroll her, and the pup, in puppy school when the time comes. Start her off on the right foot (paw?) toward being a responsible dog owner!

ADDITIONAL EDIT: You might try adopting one -- better luck with availability and it will cement the notion in your daughter's head about responsible pet ownership!

Why by that date?

You will be hard pressed to find one so quickly.. shelters and rescues rarely get in purebred puppies, and they often have an application process to adopt from them.. but you can try there www.petfinder.com

Most reputable breeders have waiting lists.. you wont likely find any that have available pups.. most are already spoken for... but you can try the Weim club to get a referral to a breeder... http://www.weimclubamerica.org/
