   i had a weim a few years back and his name was echo . he went everywhere with me on trail rides in the car and to work sometimes they such great dogs

   I have a 3 year old Weimar. She is gorgeous and smart and one of the best dogs we have ever had. However, we had to have her spayed because of a genetic problem with umbilicle hernia. These dogs continue to be bred even with the hernia problem which causes a continued increased weakness of the low abdomino-pelvic lining and a risk of their intestines protruding through and becoming strangulated. If your dog has this problem the breeder should always inform you of it. It can be noted in the area where the dogs umbilical cord fell off. We love her so much it was not a problem to have her spayed and keep her as the great dog (bird dog) she is. They are good house dogs as long as they have a lot of space to run when outside at least 2 or 3 hrs everyday. The hernia can be fixed when the dog is sayed. The vet told us it may never cause any problems with her but there's always a chance.

   my choice of dogs to own.

   I have two
   Blue who is a 9 year old boy and
   Morgan who is a 2 year old girl
   They both hunt and run with us when we ride our horses.
   They are great dogs and wonderful pets.
